Taste Asia is a 2 day event for the family and it has lots of activities for all ages. I would say probably the ‘next best’ thing we have this summer, after Barrio Fiesta was canceled. Taste Asia starts on Saturday 9th to 10th August 2008 from 11 AM to 6PM. Like the Barrio, it’s free entry!
It has lots of exciting activities with diverse cultural performances, great music and entertainment, exotic food and drinks and Arts and Crafts. Everything for the whole family young and old! Perfect time to go for a picnic in the park.
Taste Asia is an extension to the successful event, Taste Malaysia Festivals which were held in Ilford Town Centre in 2006 and 2007 attracting thousands of visitors. This year the organisers made it bigger with different cultures involved, including the Philipines. Also a planned celebrity appearance adds to the attraction, raising the profile and and hopefully making it an unforgettable experience.
Look out for Josephine’s Restaurant and Philippine Generations representing Philippines!
* Parking is available at Melbourne Field, adjacent to the festival area, providing convenience for families.
* The venue is also accessible from Gants Hill tube station (Central Line), by buses and only 10 minutes walk from Ilford Train Station and Ilford Town Centre.
Taste Asia is organised by the London Borough of Redbridge in partnership with iEverything Ltd.
