Adobong Pusit (Squid Adobo)

A unique scrumptious seafood made with garlic, tangy sauce and squid, a recipe common with Filipinos. It is a simple dish with a lot of taste. Seafood lovers this is one dish you have to try out!


1 kilo medium size squid whole
1 large onion, chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
3-5 tbsp Soy sauce
3-4 tbsp Vinegar
2 leaves of bayleaf
Black pepper
4-5 tablespoon cooking oil
1 cup of water


1. Pull the head out of the squid, remove the transparent backbone, squeeze the head out to remove the teeth and discard them. Leaving the head, the body and the ink of the squid.

2.Wash and drain them.

3.In a hot pan add the oil, suatee the garlic and onion until transparent.

4. On medium heat add the squid, mix it for a few seconds and add the bayleaf and water bring it to boil then add the soy sauce and vinegar. Add more seasoning if preferred.

5. While boiling add the black pepper and a touch of salt them turn the heat down to simmer for 5 minutes.

6. Remove from heat into a serving bowl. Do not cook it for too long as the squid becomes rubbery and do not add to much water.

Best serve with rice!
