Lend a hand to Make & Decorate Filipino Christmas lanterns for London’s largest parol exhibition hosted by the Museum of London, Docklands.
Philippine Generations is running two parol making sessions at the Museum of London Docklands as part of the Let’s Celebrate Festival, to showcase the Filipino way of celebrating the yuletide season. Come and join us to learn to create parols, the traditional Christmas lanterns. All works will be displayed at the museum throughout the festival.

This event is for anyone who wants to get crafty, have fun, meet new people and celebrate this truly Filipino Christmas tradition. Get involved in building the bamboo frames, decorating the parol or making DIY parols made of paper. There’s something for everyone, with any artistic level and for all ages! Parol kits and materials* will be provided for free, all you need to do is turn up on the day and get creative with us! Bring along your family and friends!
We will have volunteers who can help if you have never done this before. We will also have videos and printed guides to make joining in fun and easy!
There will also be other events running throughout the festival such as Venetian mask making, African dance performances, Saturnalia wax modelling, Carnival dance workshops, Henna tattoing and many more!
