PHILIPPINE CUISINE - a showcase and tasting of different dishes from the Philippines.Book & Film Launch - We have been involved in many Philippine related book and film launches.Philippine Generations Anniversary - Our Birthday, a celebration of our incorporation and a chance to look back at our progressionwhat we have achieved in the past year.Sports Related:FOOTBALL - Philippine Independence Day World cup will be a yearly event to celebrate the Philippine Independence PG GOLF SOCIETY - After the success and interest levels in the Charity Golf tournament in 2009, a regular series of annual Golf tournaments provide a sustainable sporting option to compliment football. Fundraising events - any events that can generate income for the organistion to help us reach our ultimate goal which is to have a building as a focal point for our community.
Philippine Generations is committed to helping create the heroes of tomorrow, however in extreme circumstances the need to help the suffering of today is of paramount importance.2009 saw the Philippines ravaged by two unprecedented Typhoons. Philippine Generations co-ordinated relief efforts both in the UK and in the Philippines, through a series of meetings & events in London and through the distribution of information via the Internet & Social Media and by raising funds to be distributed directly to NGOs in the Philippines.In February & March 2010, Philippine Generations distributed funds raised through the Philippine Generations Charity Golf Tournament & the Gunanbana Charity Gig to organisations affected in Tondo and Baguio.VSO Diaspora Programme – Philippine Generations has partnered with VSO UK and VSO Bahaginan in the Philippines to provide volunteering opportunities to the Filipino Dispora in the UK. The programme has been designed to reconnect the children of migrants with their parents’ country of origin.
Philippine Language Class - We ran a pilot series of classes in March 2010 and it was a huge success. We will provide this again in the near future.Workshops:KULTURA - a series of different activities from Dance, Martial Arts and DramaPAROL (Philippine lanterns) - a yearly Christmas workshop where we teach people how to build & create their very own tradtional Parol
