The almost omnipresent Stamina The Emcee, Tino Atilla, T. Max, London Baby and Kyd are featured and once again they do not disappoint!
Look out for the powerful ‘Change your view’ (Track 6) from Aziatik and Lucky Q-Ball. A definite song for all young people to hear in the current climate. We, as Filipinos, don’t need to be reminded of the last knife epidemic. As he says in his last verse ‘Think about your life/All your potential highs/Change your point of view/Turn you back to the wrongs/and think hard on every line on every verse of this song.’
Look out too for the emotional ‘Thanks Daddy’ from Adah Bermudez (Track 10). You know she’s singing from the heart on this track and it’s a real song of inspiration for all those single parent families, it reminded me of my mother, so definitely struck a chord.
Look out for Kayze (Track 11) and Rocini Mae (Track 12). The decision to position tracks 10-12 together was genius! From the heartfelt Adah I was taken back to my youth in the mid-90’s with the Timbaland style high-hats, from Kayze and then brought forward to the clubs when garage was all the rage during the turn of the century with Rocini Mae, some real feel good songs taking me back to the good old days!
Also make sure you don’t miss ‘You should be a model’ (Track 15) from Stamina and Tino. I actually heard my god-brother singing “I can see you up/on the cover of a magazine!” Such is the exposure these guys are getting now! The song followed another upbeat feel good track, ‘So Beautiful’ (Track 14) you should not miss, this time from Kid Cras and Kyd, telling us how beautiful life is…and life is beautiful.
So why would you waste your time traveling to Barrio and not grabbing at least one of these CDs?
