President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo announced the month of May as National Heritage Month. This is an attempt to raise and create awareness about Philippine Culture and Heritage to Filipinos and also to those who may have interests of the Philippines.
Ms. Armita B. Rufino, President of the Filipino Heritage Festival (FHF), in her letter to Secretary Alberto G. Romulo, requested the Department of Foreign Affairs and its overseas missions to participate by holding relevant activities and events in May 2009, the focus of which is on Awit at Sayaw (Sing and Dance). The FHF has taken the lead in coordinating efforts to commemorate National Heritage Month. There are different events and activities lined up for the month of May this can be viewed on the National Heritage Month 2009 UK Calendar.
Philippine Generations are happy to invite you all to attend any or all of the events scheduled for the Philippine National Heritage month. Everyone is welcome to join and explore Philippine culture and heritage. Please bring your family and friends, spread the news to all our kababayans (fellow country men & women), to our colleagues, neighbours and to all our non Filipino friends, this is a great way of showing them our Culture and Heritage.
It will be a wonderful experience and something to share with friends and family!
We hope to see you all there!
